Worship For Sunday
If you have a candle, or torch or a light,
light it and place it on a table where you
sit

2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version
For God hath not given us the spirit of
fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.

Read or sing
1 Praise to the Lord, the almighty, the
king of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is your
health and salvation!
Come, all who hear; brothers and
sisters draw near,
praise him in glad adoration!

2 Praise to the Lord, above all things so
mightily reigning;
keeping us safe at his side and so
gently sustaining.
Have you not seen all you have needed
has been
met by his gracious ordaining?

3 Praise to the Lord, who when
darkness and sin are abounding,
who when the godless are rampant, all
goodness confounding,
shines with his light, scatters the terror
of night,
safely his people surrounding.

4 Praise to the Lord, who shall prosper
our work and defend us;
surely his goodness and mercy shall
daily attend us.
Ponder anew what the almighty can do,
who with his love will befriend us.

5 Praise to the Lord - O let all that is in
me adore him!
All that has life and breath, come now
with praises before him!
Let the "Amen!" sound from his people
again;
gladly with praise we adore him!

A Prayer
Father of all mercies, thank you that
you have brought us into a new day.
Lighten our darkness we pray and fill us
with your light and love. Amen

Personal Thanksgiving:
Take a few minutes to give thanks to
God for what is good which is round
about you.
Seek God’s Forgiveness for anything
that is burdening you
Either do this in your own words or you
could use this prayer:

Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
We have sinned against you and
against others,
in thought and word and deed,
in the evil we have done and in the
good we have not done,
through ignorance, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We are truly sorry, and repent of all my
sins.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
who died for us, forgive me all that is
past;
and grant that I may serve you in
newness of life
to the glory of your Name. Amen

John 3 16 - “For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only son, so
that whosever believes in Him should
not perish but have eternal life”

Ask God to help you know his forgiving
love for you.
Almighty God, who forgives all who truly
repent, have mercy on me, pardon and
deliver me from all my sins, confirm and
strengthen me in all goodness, and
keep me in life eternal through Jesus
Christ, my Lord.

The Lord’s Prayer

A Bible Reading:
John 9 vs 1-41 (Readings for other
weeks will be phoned through)
A Prayer.
Father God, Open our Eyes to this
reading as we read about your Son
Jesus. Amen

Reflection:
Either:
Try reading it out loud. As you do where
do you emphasise words? How do
those words speak to you now?

Or

Read the bible reading it to yourself
After the first time enter the story with
your imagination and ask yourself what
the sights and sounds are. Read it
again. Keep imagining the story. What
do you feel God is saying to you. Read
it a third time.

Or

Put a piece of your favourite music
peaceful music on. Read the reading
again. Shut your eyes and allow the
reading and the music to bless you.
A time of Prayer:
A Prayer for our world
Loving God, I ask today that your Spirit
will give our world a sense of calm and
peace.
Bless those who are on the working in
hospitals and nursing homes, and all
those who care for the sick.
Bless those who are keeping our
streets safe.
Bless those who bring food to our
shops and those who serve us.
May your love bless us
In Jesus name. Amen

Loving God I pray for the town where I
live.
I pray for my neighbours and my
friends, for my family. May your peace
bless us.
In Jesus name. Amen
Loving God I pray for myself.
I pray that I may be filled with hope
today because you will never leave us
or forsake us. May you joy bless us.
In Jesus name. Amen
Think of your favourite song or Hymn.
Sing or say the words.
A Blessing.

If you can say these words aloud:
May God Bless Us and Keep Us
May God Make His face shine upon us.
May he Be Gracious to Us and give us
peace.
Amen

If you lit one blow your candle out

LATER TODAY:

Christians are praying at 3:00 on
Sundays. Spend a moment at 3:00
praying as you feel led, or say The
Lord’s Prayer
At 7:00 tonight, put a light on in your
window. It could be a torch or a lantern.
When you are ready, turn it off again.
Remember that on Easter Day, when
his friends were afraid, Jesus met them
and said Peace be with You. May you
know that same presence of Jesus with
you tonight. Amen
